The Shared Centre of the Home
At Design Bliss Malaysia, we believe that a thoughtfully designed home should do more than look beautiful. It should reflect the people who live in it, support their everyday routines and create an environment where comfort, functionality and aesthetics come together naturally.
Amörä Essence, our completed condominium interior design project at ViiA Residences, KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, reflects this philosophy through a considered approach to modern contemporary living. Spanning approximately 1,300 sq ft, this residential interior showcases how thoughtful space planning, a harmonious material palette and carefully coordinated design details can transform a condominium into a refined and welcoming home.
For our team of interior designers at Design Bliss Malaysia, the objective was to create a living environment that feels open, connected and comfortable without compromising on visual sophistication. The living and dining areas were therefore envisioned as one continuous setting, with each zone serving its own purpose while contributing to the overall character of the home.
In condominium interior design, every square foot matters. The challenge is not simply to fit furniture into the available space, but to establish a layout that feels natural to move through and comfortable to use. At Amörä Essence, our interior design team carefully considered the relationship between the living room, dining area and kitchen to create a cohesive and functional interior.
A restrained palette of neutral tones, stone-inspired surfaces, warm timber finishes and soft furnishings establishes the foundation of the design. Each element has its own character, yet the materials complement one another to create a consistent visual language throughout the shared space.
The dining table forms a natural focal point, while the lounge introduces a more relaxed atmosphere. Subtle architectural detailing and layered lighting add depth without overwhelming the interior.
For Design Bliss Malaysia, the beauty of Amörä Essence lies in this balance between understated luxury and everyday practicality. It is a contemporary condominium interior designed not only to make a lasting visual impression, but also to support the simple, meaningful moments that make a house feel like home.
Open-Plan Living and Dining Design for Modern Condominium Living
Open-plan living is a popular approach to modern condominium interior design in Kuala Lumpur, particularly for homeowners who value a sense of openness and connection between different functional areas.
However, a successful open-plan interior requires more than combining the living and dining spaces into one room. The furniture arrangement, circulation routes, lighting and material transitions must work together to ensure that each area remains functional while maintaining a cohesive appearance.
At Amörä Essence, our interior designers at Design Bliss Malaysia approached the living and dining areas as interconnected zones rather than separate rooms. This allows the spaces to feel more spacious and visually connected while retaining their individual identities.
The dining area occupies a central position within the open-plan arrangement, creating a natural relationship between the kitchen and the lounge. The kitchen peninsula acts as a visual bridge between cooking and dining, allowing these everyday activities to remain connected.
Beyond the dining setting, the living room introduces a softer and more relaxed atmosphere. A neutral sofa, comfortable rug and compact timber side table establish a welcoming place for rest and conversation.
The relationship between the two zones is reinforced through a consistent selection of colours and finishes. Light surfaces help maintain an airy appearance, while timber elements and darker accents introduce depth and visual definition.
This approach is particularly valuable in a condominium of approximately 1,300 sq ft, where thoughtful space planning can make a meaningful difference to the overall experience of living in the home.
At Design Bliss Malaysia, our team considers not only how a space looks in its completed form, but also how homeowners will move through it and use it every day. The result at Amörä Essence is an open-plan interior that feels connected without becoming visually monotonous.
A Dining Area Defined by Understated Elegance
The dining area at Amörä Essence is designed around the idea that elegance can be achieved through simplicity, proportion and carefully selected materials.
At the centre of the setting is a pale marble-look dining table that introduces a refined surface and a subtle light-catching quality. Its light finish complements the surrounding neutral palette, helping the dining area feel visually connected to the adjoining kitchen and living room.
Our interior design team at Design Bliss Malaysia paired the table with rounded upholstered dining chairs. Their softer silhouettes create a gentle contrast with the straight lines of the kitchen peninsula and cabinetry, introducing warmth and visual balance into the interior.
This relationship between curved and linear forms is an important part of the overall composition. The structured elements establish clarity, while the rounded seating softens the setting and creates a more inviting atmosphere.
The dining table is more than a decorative centrepiece. It provides a practical setting for everyday meals, conversations and gatherings with family and friends. The furniture arrangement therefore considers both the visual proportions of the room and the practical requirements of daily use.
For homeowners exploring modern dining room interior design ideas in Kuala Lumpur, Amörä Essence demonstrates how a carefully selected dining table, comfortable seating and a coordinated material palette can elevate a condominium interior without making the space feel crowded.
At Design Bliss Malaysia, we believe that modern luxury does not always require elaborate decoration. Sometimes, the most successful interiors are those in which every piece has a purpose and every design decision contributes to a larger, more harmonious picture.
A Harmonious Palette of Materials and Textures
The material selection at Amörä Essence reflects a considered balance between refinement and warmth.
Stone-inspired surfaces introduce a sense of sophistication, while timber finishes bring depth and a more natural character to the interior. Upholstered dining chairs and a soft living room rug add tactile comfort, balancing the cleaner lines of the cabinetry and architectural details.
A darker timber cabinet provides contrast against the lighter palette, while framed artwork introduces personality without overwhelming the space. These subtle variations in tone and texture help the interior feel layered rather than visually uniform.
Our interior designers at Design Bliss Malaysia approach material selection by considering how each finish relates to the wider design concept. Rather than treating individual elements separately, we aim to create a cohesive composition in which every material contributes to the overall atmosphere.
For homeowners exploring modern luxury interior design in Kuala Lumpur, Amörä Essence illustrates how a restrained colour palette and complementary finishes can create a sophisticated home without unnecessary visual complexity.
Architectural Details and Layered Lighting
Beyond the furniture and finishes, architectural detailing and lighting play an important role in shaping the character of Amörä Essence.
An arched opening introduces a softer architectural gesture within the streamlined layout. Its curved form creates visual interest and gives the circulation route a distinct identity, balancing the stronger lines of the surrounding interior.
The lighting design further enhances the atmosphere. Concealed lighting provides a gentle ambient glow, recessed ceiling lights support everyday activities, and a slim pendant above the dining area establishes a subtle focal point.
Together, these elements create a balanced environment that feels practical during the day and warm in the evening. The ceiling fan is also integrated into the overall ceiling composition to support everyday comfort.
At Design Bliss Malaysia, our team of interior designers considers lighting and architectural details as part of the wider interior design process. Their placement, proportions and finishes must complement the furniture layout and material palette to achieve a consistent final result.
Modern Luxury Designed for Everyday Living
For us at Design Bliss Malaysia, modern luxury is not simply about premium-looking materials or striking design features. It is about creating a home that feels intuitive to use, comfortable to live in and meaningful to its owners.
At Amörä Essence, the dining area provides a setting for everyday meals and gatherings, while the living room offers a welcoming place to unwind. The kitchen peninsula maintains a visual connection between cooking and dining, allowing the open-plan space to function naturally as part of daily life.
Each design decision contributes to this balance. Furniture proportions preserve the openness of the room, the neutral palette creates visual continuity, and the combination of timber, upholstery and stone-inspired finishes adds depth without making the interior feel crowded.
Our interior design team believes that the success of a home lies in how well its individual elements work together. Through thoughtful space planning and coordinated design decisions, we aim to create interiors that are both visually refined and practical for everyday living.
Amörä Essence reflects this philosophy through a contemporary condominium interior that brings understated elegance, comfort and functionality together.
